Item Prisoners In The Western Mediterranean Basin Through The Book Africa In The Hafsid Era By Robert Brunschvig – A Study And Analysis(Journal of Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences – Faculty of Humanities – University of Algiers 2 (Abou El Kacem Saadallah)., 2026-06-09) Hattab ,SouadRoberto Brunchvig’s book titled Africa in the Hafsid Period deals with the issue of prisoners in the Western Mediterranean during the Middle Ages. This study will look at the way they lived and the way they were treated as well as the importance of this phenomenon in the context of political and economic relations between the Hafsid dynasty and its neighbours. The approach is historical-analytical, focusing on the treaties and diplomatic missions mentioned by Brunchvig. In conclusion, prisoners were not simply the result of war, but a diplomatic and economic tool to reflect an evolving relationship between states and the way such states develop their exchange with each other. تتناول هذه الدراسة ظاهرة الأسرى في الحوض الغربي للبحر المتوسط خلال العصر الوسيط من خلال كتاب إفريقيا في العهد الحفصي لروبار برنشفيك. وتهدف إلى تحليل أوضاع الأسرى وآليات التعامل معهم، وفهم دلالات هذه الظاهرة في العلاقات السياسية والاقتصادية بين الحفصيين والدول المجاورة. اعتمد البحث على المنهج التحليلي التاريخي باستقراء المعاهدات والسفارات الواردة في الكتاب. وأظهرت النتائج أن الأسرى لم يكونوا مجرد نتاج للحروب، بل عنصرًا دبلوماسيًا واقتصاديًا مهمًا، ارتبط بتطور العلاقات الدولية وتنظيمها عبرالمعاهدات، مما يعكس تعقّد التفاعلات بين الصراع والتعاون في المتوسط الغربي خلال العصر الحفصيItem الأسرى والمعتقلون المغاربة لدى العثمانية في الجزائر 1519- 1830م "الجزائريون والتونسيون أنموذجا"(مجلة المفكر-جامعة الجزائر2-أبو القاسم سعد الله-, 2021-12-31) معطالل, عزيزة; صادوق, الحاجتهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إبراز دوافع تواجد بعض الفئات المغاربية في إيالة الجزائر ألا وهي فئة"الأسرى والمعتقلين"، وطريقة معاملة السلطة العثمانية لتلك الفئات سواء كانت محلية أو وافدة. ومن النتائج المتوصل إليها بعد دراسة الموضوع أنه بالرغم من تعدد أسباب أسر واعتقال السلطة العثمانية سواء للفئات الجزائرية أو التونسية إلا أن الصراع العسكري يعتبر أهم سبب في ذلك. إن وضع الأسير الجزائري أو التونسي في الجزائر يختلف عن الأسير الأوروبي سواء من ناحية المعاملة أو الإيواء وهذا حسب الكتابات التي أرخت لذلك. The purpose of this study is to highlight the reasons for the presence in Algeria of certain Moroccan groups, namely, "prisoners and detainees," and the manner in which the Ottoman Authority treats these groups, whether local or indigenous. One of the findings of the study was that, despite the many reasons for the capture and detention of the Ottoman Authority by both Algerian and Tunisian groups, the military conflict was the most important reason for that. The situation of Algerian or Tunisian prisoners of war in Algeria is different from that of European prisoners of war in terms of treatment and accommodation, according to the literature that has been completed
