Part of Black Africa has long suffered from slavery and mistreatment affecting dignity and human rights that would have given the African people a decent and peaceful life. Literature has been able to express the misfortunes of Black people who were oppressed, mistreated, and robbed of their freedom and natural resources; they were forced to do only hard labour. That is why only words have been able to reveal the revolt of the African man and denounce the atrocities he has suffered. ."Roots" is a beautiful and painful novel that tells the story of an American Black slave family in North America, written by Alex Haley and published in 1976. Did Said Mohamed Abdelmouneem succeed in translating the novel's ideas with their historical context and creating the same reaction in the reader as the original text? This question will be raised in this paper to see if the translator was faithful in his transfer and was able to convey the message expressed in the original text. For many centuries, a significant part of Sub-Saharan Africa endured the horrors of slavery, colonization, and various forms of abuse that severely violated human dignity and fundamental human rights. African peoples were deprived of their freedom, exploited on their own land or forcibly deported to foreign continents, stripped of their natural wealth, and subjected to forced labor. These injustices condemned them to lives marked by suffering, oppression, and dispossession. In response to this tragic reality, literature emerged as a powerful means of expression and resistance. Through words, writers were able to convey the pain endured by oppressed Black people, expose the brutality of slavery, and give voice to those who had long been silenced. Literary works thus played a crucial role in preserving collective memory and revealing the inner revolt of the African being against dehumanization and injustice. Published in 1976, Roots by Alex Haley is one of the most influential novels dealing with the history of African-American slavery. The novel recounts the moving story of several generations of an African family, beginning with the capture of Kunta Kinte in Africa and following the lives of his descendants in North America. Through this deeply emotional and historically grounded narrative, Haley sheds light on the violence of the transatlantic slave trade, the systematic dehumanization of enslaved Africans, as well as their resilience, resistance, and enduring connection to their cultural roots. The Arabic translation of Roots by Said Mohamed Abdelmouneem raises a fundamental question: was the translator able to faithfully convey the ideas of the novel while preserving its historical, cultural, and emotional context? Did the translated text succeed in producing the same emotional impact on its readers as the original did? This article seeks to explore these questions by examining the translator’s fidelity and assessing how effectively the original message, human values, and symbolic depth of the novel have been transmitted. Some disciplines were developed by the intersection of two disciplines or more. This is thecase of the analysis of literary discourse. Born from the intersection of Linguistics with literature, this discipline has the favorite place for interdisciplinarity, especially in relation to objects such as the dialogism. In this regard, the history of dialogism, which was born in literature and has migrated to the language studies, also its multidisciplinary nature of this phenomenon made that it could be approached only in the light of a confirmed interdisciplinarity. So, the interdisciplinarity required in the treatment of this phenomenon is the subject of this work. The last fifteen years have seen the emergence of a pleiad of men and women of letters who have entered the Algerian literary scene. Among these new writers, stands out the pen Hamid Skif, recently disappeared, which remains unknown to the general public, but known and appreciated only by specialists in Maghrebian literature in general and Algerian in particular. We propose to analyze the representation of the theme of exile in this writer in his final novel: The Geography of Danger, which allows us to glimpse a kind of renewal in the treatment of it. Indeed, through this work representative of a new deal in the Maghreb, the "harrag" seems to invest the literary field supplanting the figure of the emigrant. In direct contact with the current Algerian social context, where "malaise" pushes people to risk their lives to reach Europe, this text depicts the distressing geographic and psychic universe of an undocumented migrant. The purpose of this interview is to present one of the most active Algerian teachers and researchers: Prof. YamiléGhebalou. Asked about a number of issues relating to higher education, scientific research, and literary criticism, she insisted at length on the need to go beyond and avoid the clichés that have clumped together literary criticism. For her, this must be a perpetual questioning of works, especially those of the poetic genre. The positions that Professor Ghebalou defends here are of very great importance because she combines the functions of teacher, literary critic and writer. This interview is intended to be both a tribute to one of the most illustrious teachers and researchers that the Algerian University has known in recent years, and a bridge between the elders and the new generation of Algerian teachers and researchers. The aim is to enable them to benefit from the experience and knowledge of alumni in the field of higher education and literary criticism.
