The present pedagogical handout contains a set of lectures included in the module "Philosophical references." Which is prepared for first-year Master's students in the second semester, specializing in general philosophy and modern and contemporary western philosophy. It comprises detailed analytical readings of the contents of valuable works by philosophers of different schools of thought, intellectual trends, and affiliations. Which are principally: empiricism, ontology, phenomenology, existentialism, hermeneutics, and archaeology, in western philosophy throughout the modern and contemporary periods.
